The Lawyer Dude
I went out with Lawyer dude one evening after work and I chose Elizabeth in Noho since I liked the Lucite chairs they had in the outdoor dining area. He said he was going to be a bit late so I didn’t rush to get there. I was on my way over when he texted me telling he was at the bar. He was on drink 2 when I finally arrived. He was dressed in an ill-fitted pin striped suit with a white pocket square, white button down and pink paisley printed tie…I kid you not! BUT, he was friendly and nice and greeted me with a smile that showed off his dimples. Did you know that dimples are actually a birth defect? No lie, look it up. Anyway, I ordered a glass of wine at the bar with him and he suggested shortly after that we get a table for dinner. Thank the goddess because I was starving like a hostage! We were seated and we ordered right away. The food was good and it came out pretty quickly. Not sure just how concerned I should be about that but I didn’t get sick. We ate..He let me try his brussell sprouts and I let him sample my mussels. During dinner, I wasn’t sure if he liked me or not because he wasn’t very engaging. It wasn’t until we left and went to Balthazar for dessert that he showed his interest a bit more. Maybe it was the wine and chocolate, who knows but we ended up ordering 3 desserts there and we ate all of them! We had chocolate cake, crème brulee, and chocolate fondue along with our wines. As we ate and talked, he opened up a bit more and even touched my leg..LOL. We chatted about our star signs and he claimed he knew exactly what mine was but refused to tell me. He said he would email me with it the next day and tell me. We’ll see. I tried guessing his but came up short. I think I did guess it but he didn’t want to tell me. Then we met a woman called Nadine who use to work there and she was telling him that if she were a lesbian, that she would be all over me!..lol She was fun and was wearing a fabulous cocktail ring that she designed and crafted herself. After more wine, my date with the lawyer dude and Nadine was getting better and better by the minute. I had two people on either side of me just spilling over with compliments. I didn’t know how to contain myself. But around 11 pm and I was winding down from my sugar high and wanted to call it a night. So we said bye to Nadine and he flagged down a cab for me. I cheek kissed him goodnight and went home. When I got home, I called my friend Dion to complain about how tired I am of dating, but sadly, the saga must continue..

Entertaining! Intriguing! Amazing delineation! - (friend/fellow boricua)
Wholly educational: dimples=birth defects, move over discovery channel. Starving like a hostage, you go poet! May the goddess look over you.
