The Straight Chelsea Boy

So this dude and I met online and have been casually emailing back and forth for about a month. Finally we managed to find some time to meet and hang out for a bit. He was growing frustrated by me not making a date with him after all this time and asked me if he should just give up. I don’t like quitters, and I refused to facilitate that for him. So he emailed me a list of suggested places and Inoteca was the most acceptable of that list and I didn’t have the time or energy to find another place to suggest. Besides, I’d been there before and liked the wine menu. So we met up at 7:30 and he was outside when I got there. I didn’t notice him and was about to call him when he walked up to me. So we greet with a handshake and go inside. It was pretty busy and we were seated downstairs. I snatched a couple matchboxes on the way down since I like to collect them. When we got down there I noticed a smell of cigarettes but obviously no one can smoke inside and after a few moments, I concluded that the foul odor might have possibly been his breath! Ugh so gross…I hope I was wrong but I cant imagine what else it could have been since I only smelled it when he spoke. So we order some wine. He got red and I got white. It was a little boring until the wine began to sink in and we ordered some aperitifs to share. He told me about his job in the telecom industry and he was fascinated and strangely intimidated by what I do. I’ve never met a guy who was intimidated by fashion, but I guess it made since because he clearly had no clue how to dress his body. His jacket for Christ’s sake was swallowing him. Anyway, we also spoke about our families. His father came from a very wealthy background and his mom was the complete opposite. His brother and him were also total opposites. He doesn’t believe in religion and his brother is a Hasidic Jew living in Israel. Anyway after about an hour and a half I was winding down and ready to go. I had a lovely time over all and MIGHT consider hanging out with him again. He asked me how I thought the date went, and I said it went well. He agreed. I don’t know, jury is still out on him, but I gave him my number once we exited the restaurant. He didn’t walk me home. It was fine; I preferred to walk alone that night anyway
